Jason and Brielle Matson are in the charming town of Chatham, Massachusetts, looking for a month-long vacation rental. They'll tour three beautiful but very different homes with such diverse options. Which 'sweet retreat' will they choose?
Cape Cod is very special to Jason and Brielle. It's where Brielle grew up, it's where they met, and it's where they married. Now, the couple is looking for a special place to call home a month out of every year in the town of Chatham but can they agree on the house?
When renting a vacation property make sure you understand the contract. Most people will require a security deposit and don't be surprised if it takes the owner 30 days to return it. Also, be sure you ask about linens and a cleaning fee. One of the best ways to find a vacation rental is to ask friends for a recommendation. Realtors can also be a great resource, especially in a vacation destination town.
House #1 - Jason and Brielle toured a four bedroom house with a gourmet kitchen and outdoor entertaining area. The problem is it's not on the water. It rents for $4,200 a week.
House #2 - After that, they get a look at a luxurious house that has views of the Brielle Caves. It has three bedrooms, a large kitchen and a hot tub, which is something Jason wants. But, it's a little out of the price range. It rents for $8,500 a week.
House #3 - Then, they tour the final vacation rental. It's a historic beauty that has been fully renovated and it's within walking distance to town and Lighthouse Beach. It is also has the right price tag! It rents for $5,000.
