DIY Room Deodorizers
Some store-bought deodorizers can contain harmful chemicals. So why buy it when you can make your own, risk-free? Here are a few DIY room deodorizers that will transform the scent of your home!
Mason Jar Freshener
Fill your mason jar half full with baking soda.
Add 12 drops of your favorite essential oil.
Cover the top of the jar with cheesecloth, mesh or tulle.
Use ribbon or a decorative bow to secure the cover.
The scent will slowly make its way through the cheesecloth and there you have your natural room deodorizer!
Hot Pot Freshener
Fill your saucepan with water.
Add slices of orange or lemon to the water.
Add vanilla extract.
Add 2 or 3 cinnamon sticks.
Bring to a boil and let simmer.
This is great for refreshing your home after you've cooked or a great tip for when you having company over last minute!
DIY Oil Diffuser
Take a glass container with a smaller opening. This way, the scented oil will take longer to evaporate.
Add 1/4 cup of water, a splash of vodka and 12 drops of your favorite essentail oil.
Place natural bamboo sticks or bbq skewers into the glass container After an hour, flip the sticks so your scent can fill the room.
Tip
- Rotate the ends of the reeds or skewers once a week to refresh and prolong the fragrance.
- The smaller the opening at the neck of the glass container the better, this will force the oils to travel up the wick to diffuse their scent rather than evaporating up through the neck.
