An Al Fresco Wedding Menu

Chef Tina Moorey, ring leader of On The Side, Gourmet Food visited our wedding show to lend us her expertise on Al Fresco weddings. Al Fresco, or outdoor weddings, are very on trend, and Tina has your food ideas covered so your guests can enjoy the outdoors. Use these ideas to build the perfect Al Fresco wedding menu.

Hors D'oeuvres

Crudite cones with dip and spoons with smoked salmon and lemon crema: These cones are great to enjoy in the outdoors. Portable and full of in-season and heirloom vegetables, they are a great first snack. Smoked salmon is a fresh and filling addition to your Hors D'oeuvres list. The spoon is once again portable, so your guests can walk around while enjoying.

Appetizers

Cucumber gazpacho: Gazpacho is a chilled soup perfect for a summer wedding. It's fresh and clean and celebrates the bounty growing around us. The cucumber garnish is edible too!

Entrée

Marinated grilled chicken and French potato salad: Family style platters are a big trend for weddings. Instead of being stuck in their chairs or in line waiting for service, guests can eat from their table and have more time to mingle through the wedding grounds. Grilled chicken brings the flavour of barbecue while French potato salad uses a vinaigrette instead of mayonnaise to keep the summer fresh theme going.

Dessert

Individual lemon meringue pies, chocolate mousse and passionfruit tarts: Why have one dessert when you can have three! A small taste is sometimes all you want after a large wedding meal. Chef Tina uses votive candle holders and mini martini glasses to make the desserts portable and beautiful.
