Slow-Cooked Beef Brisket

  • Brisket, 5-7 lbs
  • 2 Large onions coarsely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon hot paprika
  • 3 sprigs rosemary
  • Fresh or dried thyme to taste
  • 2 cups beef stock
  • 1/4 cup tequila lime vinegar or any flavor vinegar you like
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 cup chili sauce
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar


Brown brisket on all sides and set aside. In same pan, saute onion for 10 minutes. Add garlic and dried spices. Saute till you smell the garlic.

In a bowl, combine beef stock, ketchup, chili sauce, hot sauce, and brown sugar. Place brisket in slow cooker and pour mixture over brisket and add fresh rosemary and thyme. Cook in a slow cooker for 8-10 hours.

You can also cook the brisket in the oven. Bake in a roasting bag at 300 degrees for 3-4 hours.
