Spring Make-up
There's one word to describe makeup for spring 2011 -- colorful! Don't shy away because everyone can wear it. Yes, even those bright pinks, oranges and corals!
"One of the trends we're seeing for spring this year is bold color on both lips and cheeks," says makeup artist Sarah Tucker. Just be sure you know how to apply it!

Tips:
- Darker skin tones, opt for colors with more intensity like magenta.
- Lighter skin tones, use bold colors that are a bit more muted.
- For bold lips, match your lip liner to your lip color to keep the lipstick from bleeding outside your lip line. Then, set the lip color with silicon powder.
- Don't be afraid to pair bold cheek color with bold lip color this season. However, keep eye color to a minimum.
- Sarah likes creamy cheek colors because she can control the intensity and blend more easily.
- Two-toned eyes are another spring trend. Use colors in the same family, but in different variations (ex: mauve and pink, charcoal and soft gray, bright blue and navy).
- Always prime the eyelid when working with bright colors. Use a wide flat brush to press and roll the color onto the lid. Be sure to apply the darker color to the outer corner and the brighter color to the inside corner.
- One of the biggest trends -- purple eyes. Everyone can wear it, but it looks especially great on green eyes.
- Another huge trend: coral. Also flattering on everyone because you can wear peach to true coral to orange. Sarah says it's not for your grandmother! It's very hip and modern right now.
