Runway to Real Way
He's done runway, he's done editorial, and he's done TV, and now make-up artist Mathew Nigara is sharing his secrets with us.
It sounds ironic, but Mathew uses the same red lipstick as a camouflage for blemishes.
"You want to work with it in a very, very sheer way and use very little of it. Take just a bit, rub it on the hand and just dab, dab, dab," he says. Add foundation and the blemish will be gone!
Want melt-proof eye make-up? Mix dark eyeliner with your favorite shadow. "It makes a beautiful eye shadow base and becomes smudge-proof, waterproof, and your eye shadow will not crease," says Mathew. Draw a line on your hand, add some eye shadow, mix them together and apply to your eye lids.
To give models a picture perfect glow, Mathew always adds shimmer. "By putting highlight in the center of the face and bringing it down, it will actually broaden your cheekbone and broaden your face a little bit, which always makes it a little more pretty," he says.
Ever buy an eye shadow that just doesn't look the same color when you apply it? Grab a white eye liner pencil and use it as a base for your eye shadow to make it pop.
Use a lighter to burn an eye liner pencil to make it a smudge-proof, really intense black liner for the inner rim of the eye.
