Mod Fashion Is Back

Mod Fashion Is Back

We can describe the Mod trend of the sixties as bold, risky, captivating, and clairvoyant. This season's styles are a nod to Mod.

"Mod actually came about in the UK in London in the late 50s and finally made its way over to the USA in the mid-sixties," says stylist Ashley Allen.

She says the lastest mod looks are a throwback to an era where sporting lots of color and showing a serious leg ruled.

Ashley's shares her Go Mod expertise:

  • For sixties style, try a shift dress. If it has sleeves, go flared. For color, go bright!
  • For prints, try geometric in bright, bold colors. Pair geo tops with white skinny jeans and platform wedges.
  • If you're going to wear a bold print, wear a bold accessory as well.
  • With a large circular patterns, coordinate with circular jewelry like hoop earrings.
  • Take flight with 1960s stewardess-inspired styles -- crisp clean lines and fabrics, hats, etc.
  • Shirtdresses are always classic, stylish and modern retro.
  • Try wide-legged pants with a flowy top and belt for a stylish look.
  • When wearing high-waisted pants, be sure to tuck in your shirt for a slimmer silhouette.
  • Color-blocking is an old trend that's new again and easy to do.
  • If you're not into bright colors, try neutral tones with pops of color.
