Covering Under Eye Circles
Salon Owner Rachel Gower advises not to think about your age when it comes to camouflaging and concealing the under eye area.
Rachel says to consider these three things:
- Color
- Consistency of product
- Coverage level
Color
When it comes to color, choose a pinkish tone if you want to color correct. If you're trying to color-match, choose a shade close to foundation or just one tone lighter.
Consistency and Coverage
Rachel says there are several types of concealers with different consistencies. Some considerations:
- Brightening Concealers: can get every shade, color correct, color match, get a beautiful finish that will conceal, brighten, and highlight
- Yves Saint Laurent's Touche Eclat at Sephora for about $40
- Maybelline's Dream Lumi Touche about $8
- Traditional Liquid Concealers: very concentrated, don't need very much
- Makeup Forever Silicone Tip at Sephora for about $29
- Urban Decay Pencil at Sephora for about $18
- Revlon's Color Stay for about $10
- Paste: Really thick, can exaggerate wrinkles so layer with fingers.
- Benefit Erase Paste. It's about $26 at Sephora
