Colored Jeans
It's time to branch out from basic blue! Jeans now come in a rainbow of colors that anyone -- with a little confidence -- can wear.
"When you're going to fit yourself into a pair of colored jeans, it's very similar to how you would fit yourself in a pair of regular jeans. The same rules still apply. Now, how comfortable you are with colors is really up to you," says Wendy.
For the person who wants to ease into the trend, try maybe khaki, an army green or even a navy blue. The colors aren't so wild, won't attract too much attention and can pair with pretty much anything. However, if you're confident, try any color from pale pink to electric blue or yellow!
Here are some other tips:
- Never wear one color in the SAME shade from head to toe. If you want to wear all one color, make sure it's a tonal look with different shades (light and dark) of that color.
- If you're wondering what to wear with very bright or neon jeans, look for something neutral or mostly neutral. Do not pair bright colors with other bright colors.
- The easiest thing to match with bright jeans is a solid-colored tee.
- If you're looking to make an investment in a pair of colored jeans, try getting muted color, something that will take you more easily from summer to fall and winter.
- To make your colored jeans last, try turning them inside out, washing them in cold water and adding a cup of vinegar to the wash water. The vinegar should save the color and the smell will wash out with the cycle.
- To dry your jeans, put them on low heat in the dryer, so that they will shrink back to their original size. Don't dry them all the way. Pull them out just a little bit damp.
