Camel Hair Trend for Winter

Camel has always been a winter staple, but this season there are a few new ways to consider incorporating this throwback look into your wardrobe.

Editor of SavvyBroad.com, Elaine Jefferson, says that this time around, camel equals either hot glamour or cool minimalism.

An example of the minimalist approach is a classic camel coat paired with a crisp white shirt and gray pants. But hot glamour in camel would be va-va-voom leopard. Jefferson says, "A good way to look at leopard is camel with spots!"

A full, wool camel coat can be quite an investment. So, if it's not in your budget, Jefferson says to look for the next best thing. A cashmere camel-colored sweater, a camel turtleneck or camel wrap will give you a similar look for less.

Jefferson also says to be careful when choosing the right camel piece. For coats and suits, look for crisp seams and even stitching, this is a sign of good tailoring. As far as color, hold other colors up to the camel item you choose and see if they clash when next to each other. True camel is a neutral, so everything should go.
