Boots in the Summer

Don't stash away your boots when the weather warms up!

You can actually wear tall winter boots in the summer. August Devenot from Coquette Boutique says the most important thing is to pair winter-type boots with summer styles -- light, colorful, short, frilly fabrics and do not try to pull off fleece lined boots in the dead of summer. Draw the line and wear western boots, riding boots, rain boots, stilettos, moccasins, motorcycle boots or booties. Pair them with a little white dress, denim cutoffs and a tank, a frilly summer dress, a cocktail dress or a casual cardigan and shorts.

However, if you don't want to try tall boots in the summer, stylist Andrea Bonner says the true summer boot is the bootie. You can buy them any time of year and wear them year round! But beware! Booties stop at your ankles, so if you have thicker ankles or calves you might want to skip this trend.
