Berry-Based Beauty

We all know that berries are superfoods, full of antioxidants and vitamins. But it turns out they're also 'berry' good at boosting our beauty!

Salon owner Rachel Gower shares her favorite berry-based beauty products:

Rachel says: This super fruit has antioxidants that give skin UV protection along with other benefits. One of the best ways to incorporate pomegranate into your skin routine is with your makeup.
Her favorite: Jane Iredale mineral powders and Pom Mist

Rachel says: It has so much vitamin C in it that it's great for the skin. In fact, the goji berry has about 400 times more vitamin C than an orange.
Her favorite: Smashbox O-Gloss

Rachel says: The blueberry has all of the wonderful antioxidant properties that other berries have, but it's special because it's particularly good for capillary health. Anyone with rosecea or unwanted redness should try something with blueberries.
Her favorite: Aveeno Positively Nourishing Body Moisturizer

Rachel says: It's known for its ability to survive in extremely dry conditions, which makes it fabulous for skincare because it knows how to hold on to water. Anyone who's starting to notice sagging, deep lines or fine lines, the naseberry would be a fabulous berry to incorporate into your routine.
Her favorite: Eminence Treatment Cream

Rachel says: Just like other berries, it's full of nutrients, vitamins, minerals, but it also has resveritrol, which makes it a really great ingredient for skincare and hair care.
Her favorite: De Lorenzo Rejuvenate the Ends

Rachel says: Anther great but not very well-known berry is the bearberry. It's also known as the mountain cranberry. The best part of the bearberry is that it has a derivative called arbutin, which is known for being a natural skin lightener. So, anyone who is dealing with melasma or hyper pigmentation would definitely want to use something with bearberry in it.
Her favorite: Jane Iredale Enlighten Concealer

Rachel says: It helps absorb the sun rays and then helps to convert it into an energy that's very similar to an LED light that you would get in a facial treatment. People who have used this product are reporting a reduction in wrinkles and an increase in elasticity.
Her favorite: DERMAdoctor Photodynamic Therapy
