Just because it's there doesn't mean you have to eat it. Next time you toast a bagel only toast half and save the other half for tomorrow. Or, if you are going to order a bagel, give half to a friend.
And, when it comes to bagel toppings you are going to want to watch out. One tablespoon of butter is 100 calories and one tablespoon of cream cheese is 50 calories. Use reduced fat or non-fat cream cheese or add a little spray butter and sugar-free jam.
