  • 1 - sheet 1/2" plywood
  • 4 - 2x4 - 8 feet long
  • 2 1/2" pocket hole screws
  • 4" overall clearance caster wheels
  • 2" flat headed screws or finish nails
  • 1 1/4 inch finish nails
  • 2 1/2 inch pocket hole screws
  • measuring tape
  • square
  • pencil
  • safety glasses
  • hearing protection

1. Determine the height of your table and cut four 4x4's at that length, which will be the legs of the piece. Remember to take into account a few inches for the top of your table.

2. Attach the legs together using two 2x2's. Put in the cross pieces at either end of the base with two more 2x4's. This is called apron.

3. Add three support beams evenly spaced across the bottom so that your table is sturdy.

4. Cut the piece of plywood to size of the bottom shelf and notch out all four corners so that the plywood sits inside of the legs. Screw into the apron you just attached.

5. Repeat the process of attaching the apron to both ends, and then the front and back of the piece.

6. Add the upright supports out of 2x4's at the middle of the piece. These guys attach the lower shelf to the top apron.

7. Now it's time to build the top! Attach four 2x6 planks cut to the top, making sure to leave an overhang on the front and sides, while the back is flush.

8. Paint or stain the entire piece. Let dry. Add the castor wheels and you're officially done!

This is a furniture piece that will withstand the test of time and look great in almost any space!
