Guest Room Final Reveal

Lisa Quinn turns a dull guest room into a modern and chic room.

Inside Scoop for Lisa's Guest Room Design
by Fabian Scrivani

A central design feature for the room was the geometric square shape Lisa pulled from the facade of the Parker Hotel in Palm Springs. It inspired her painting and the graphic accessories like the horse lamp, black tassels on white lamps, accent pillow and palm fronds in the orange vases above the bed.

Don't be afraid to experiment with paint color. Sometimes going bold on the walls is very striking and can be a GORGEOUS backdrop for all your furniture and accessories. Plus, if you absolutely hate it, paint is fairly cheap and is easily changed.

Mixing true vintage pieces and new, contemporary pieces gave the room some weight and history. Embrace your hand-me-downs and thrift store finds to add a playful, nostalgic charm to a room. An easy update like a new shade for a 70's lamp or a coat of lacquer finish spray paint on an old dresser gives your pieces new life and restores their usability.
