Lisa Quinn makes over a girl's room. She takes it from a toddler styled space to a dreamy teen bedroom.

Decorating a Girl's Room:

• If you choose bold colors for the room, pick a neutral color, such as white, for furniture to soften the look.
• Create a work zone with a desk and great lighting so that she has a place to do homework. It should include lots of storage.
• To encourage her to keep her clothes off the floor, make sure she can reach the closet rod and hangers. You can also store clothes in labeled bins.
• When you pick a room theme for your child, make sure it can grow with her. Keep it simple and versatile.

Your linens or pillows can be inspiration for your room design. You can take colors from your linens and use it for the wall color. Also, bring in accessories to help create the room theme.

Are you looking for more space, but still want a nice sized bed in the room? Trundle Beds are great for space saving. It's basically a twin bed with a slightly smaller bed on rollers or casters stored underneath. The lower bed can be pulled out when you have visitors. Bunk beds are another great way to create two sleeping spaces without taking up a lot of room.
