Enjoy Asian Inspired Cuisine with Stunning Views at Hollywood's Yamashiro

Chef Ryan Scott is checking out all of Hollywood's hottest restaurants. He starts by trying the Asian-fusion food at Yamashiro, which is set in a historic Mountain Palace atop Hollywood.

Perched above the city in Hollywood Hills is Yamashiro -- which means mountain palace. This century old, ten-room mansion with beautiful views, exotic gardens, craved dragons and a Japanese pagoda, has some of the best Asian-fusion cuisine around.

"The place is surrounded in a shroud of positivity. People come up here to get engaged, people come up here to get married, you know... first dates," said Carlos Ulloa, owner.

In the 1930s it was a private club for actors.

"They would throw raging parties up here," said Carlos.

Executive chef Brock Kleweno has been serving his signature dishes for a decade.

"It is Asian inspired and we try to take a lot of elements from LA in general which has every culture and everything you could ever imagine in LA so when I approach the menu, I try to hit all those elements whether it's Asian or Latino or white guy," said Brock Kleweno, chef.

Some of their famous dishes include their spicy tuna forbidden rice roll topped with avocado and caviar, grilled tuna with a zesty tomatillo salsa and a sweet Asian sauce and an American wagyu steak cooked on a Himalayan salt plate.
