Sell Your Home
It's a buyer's market and the good news there are a lot of options when it comes to house hunting. So, what should you do to make sure you get the most money?
"If a house doesn't show well, it could have the perfect floor plan for that family, people aren't going to buy it," CeCilia said. "Or it will sit and sell at a much reduced price, which doesn't need to be the case." "We can go in and evaluate very quickly what needs to stay, what needs to go and it makes a big difference," she said.
They say you have to wow them from the curb.
"First impressions are the absolute best - you don't get a second chance," Cheryle said. "You need to make sure all the leaves are removed and the front porch is really presentable," she explained. "It's not necessary to paint, but you really want to make sure the door is clean and polished and that your windows are clean."
She says a well-kept entrance will entice buyers to want to see what's inside.
"You just want everything to look as nice and open as it can and simple clean," CeCilia said.
And since not everyone loves pets - they advise removing pet dishes from open spaces.
The first thing they notice in the family room - the sofa is in front of the fire place and a chair is blocking off the flow of the room.
"Again, the pet bed right in the middle of the room takes away from the TV viewing area and this chair has way too many pillows on it," CeCilia said. "This lamp is way out of scale for this area and the magazines are scattered in a messy fashion on this beautiful shelf."
Even something a simple as hiding cords can make a big difference.
"You can take away things that detract from something that's beautiful, you can add a simple vase or an area rug and just warm up an area," said CeCilia. "And the buyer will appreciate you've made that effort and pay top dollar for your home."
