Mason Jars

Mason jars aren't just for canning! Designer Pamela Miltenberger came up with some unique uses for the glass jars that are easy to recreate at home.

"It's really just being creative and exploring," Pamela said. "That's the beauty of it, just being unafraid to explore - looking around your house and going 'I could do that.'

1. Flower Vase

    What You Need:
    Mason Jar
    Spray Paint -for glass
    Flowers
    Ribbon

Directions:

Just spray paint a mason jar with your favorite color, make sure the paint is for glass. Tie a ribbon around the top and add your favorite flowers.

2. Solar Light Mason Jar

    What You Need:
    1mason jar with attached lid
    1solar stake light

Directions:

Spray paint the inside of the jar with Frosted Glass Finish paint.

Unscrew the solar light and glue it (E-6000 glue) to the top of the lid making sure the solar panel is facing up.

3. Mason Jar Soap Dispenser

    What You Need:
    1 mason jar with lid
    Soap
    Pump
    Needle-Nose Pliers
Directions:

Make holes in the lid using a nail and hammer.

Using needle-nosed pliers bend back the metal to make an opening large enough for the pump.

Add soap.

4. Mason Jar Chandalier

    What You Need:
    Extension cord with attachment for the bulb
    Bulbs
    Mason Jars

Directions:

Make a hold in the lid with a nail and hammer big enough for the attachment.

Repeat on 4-5 mason jar lids.

Screw on the bulb and mason jar.

String them together in varying lengths and hang them.

For safety you may not want to use a bulb higher than 25 watts.

To paint the mason jar -- mix together mod podge glue, food coloring and water.
