Making Jam and Jelly
Making jams and jelly is a great way to utilize extra fruit -- especially if you have a garden or just got a great deal at the grocery store.
You can make the jam in bulk. We made seven jars in about an hour. After your initial investment of buying jars and canning supplies, it costs about 50 cents per jar of jam.
You can use any fruit you like and the directions are pretty much the same across the board.
Your preserves are good for about 18 months. Don't forget to label so you know exactly when to use them by.
