Inexpensive Gluten-Free Recipes

If you've cut gluten out of your diet for health reasons, you may find your new lifestyle quite expensive. Here are two inexpensive recipes that are healthy, homemade and completely gluten-free: Apple Crisp and Fettuccini Alfredo with Almond Crusted Chicken.

An estimated 18 million Americans are gluten intolerant, and that's not counting those with Celiac Disease. If you're one of them, you don't have to give up the foods you love or pay high prices at the store for gluten-free projects.

While gluten is in a lot of foods, like pastas, breads, cereals and even spices, it doesn't have any flavor, so cooking gluten-free isn't necessarily less tasty, says Chef Natasha Treś.

When Natasha found out that she had many food allergies, including gluten, she had to rethink her cooking.

"Cooking gluten-free - it's going to be inexpensive. It's going to be delicious, and I'm going to show you how," says Natasha.

Here are two of her favorite recipes and shows that you can eat gluten free on a budget: Almond Crusted Chicken with Fettuccini Alfredo and Apple Crisp.

While chicken with fettuccini alfredo would run you $15 to 20 at an average restaurant, Natahsha's version costs just $4.16 a serving.

And the apple crisp? It's super inexpensive at just 97 cents a person!

"You can feed your family cheaper with this than those boxed meals or a trip to the drive thru," says Natasha.
