Ali Vincent's 10 Live Big Tips

Ali Vincent, the first female winner of the TV show the Biggest Loser, is also part of our Live Well Network family. In her show, Live Big with Ali Vincent, Ali inspires others to take control of their lives.

Ali admits keeping the weight off can be challenging, but says staying consistent is what keeps her on track. She says she didn't change anything that she couldn't do forever.

"I make sure I have lots of friends to support me they're like my barriers so when I start falling they catch me and push me back," Ali says.

Her top 10 tips to living healthy:

#1 WRITE IT DOWN
"Number one, write everything down. I started writing everything down keeping track of how many calories I was burning how I was feeling throughout the day," she said.

#2 EAT ON A TIME FRAME
"Number two was making sure that I eat on a time frame. When I get hungry I over eat, right - if I let myself get hungry or thirsty who knows what's going to happen then," she said.

#3 HAVE A PLAN
"You want to make sure that you have a plan, I know you like to have plans with Deals go in there with a mission - that's the same thing with eating you want to plan out your week, you don't want to leave anything up for chance, chance leaves opportunity for - compromising situations," Ali said.

#4 STAY HYDRATED
"You want to stay hydrated - I didn't realize how thirsty I was," she said. "I was always having a beverage in my hand, but I was having beverages that weren't really hydrating me - soda, coffee." "I do a lot of coffee still but I make sure I have a lot of water with me," she said.

#5 STAY PREPARED
"Always stay prepared - I always have a gym bag in my car when I'm at home because a lot of times I think I'm going to go in one direction, but someone invites me to go for a run and I don't want to be the girl that's like I don't got any sneakers, so I have a little bit of everything in my car," she said.

#6 CARRY SNACKS
"You want to make sure that you have snacks with you at all times - you can look into my purse and I've got some almonds, a piece of fruit," Ali said.

#7 CARRY GUM
"That was my biggest thing, I found and located chocolate mint gum because I'm a chocolate mint ice cream person," she said. "so I'm like I don't want the calories of the chocolate mint ice cream, but this gum works pretty well," she said.

#8 CAN'T TASTE IT? DON'T WASTE IT
"If I can't taste it, I don't waste it - meaning that if I can't taste a slice of cheese amongst avocado, alfalfa sprouts, peppers - different things like that in a sandwich then I'm not going to waste those 80 calories," Ali said.

#9 USE THE BUDDY SYSTEM
"Make sure you have a buddy it's always better to plan a date for working out or going hiking or something like that because if you -- I will sometimes be like oh I don't feel like it, but I'm not going to call my girlfriend up and be like 'oh I'm sorry, I'm a looser and I'm not coming," she said.

#10 CELEBRATE!
"You've got to celebrate your efforts, you've got to make sure you put yourself in some nice gym clothes when you go to a gym, put yourself in a nice outfit when you go out because you want to know that what your efforts are doing you're definitely going to reap the results of that and feel good," she said. "Because it's all about living big and living big is about living happy, living healthy, living balanced."
